Director
Antoine Masson co-manages the “Law, Management and Strategies” research program at the ESSEC Business school (Paris) and is in charge of a books series published in French on that topic by Larcier. He has been a part-time lecturer at Trinity College (Dublin) and a researcher at HEC Paris and the University of Luxembourg. He has edited seven books on Law & Management, including “Legal strategies: How Corporation use Law to Improve Performance (Springer, Germany 2010) with Mary J. Shariff and Mapping Legal Innovation with Gavin Robinson (Springer, Germany 2021). He is the founder and director of the Law & Management Research Network.

Hugues Bouthinon-Dumas is an associate professor of law at ESSEC Business School. He is graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan and holds a doctorate in law. With Antoine Masson, he co-manage the Law, Management and Strategy program at the ESSEC.
W. Gregory Voss is Associate Professor of Business Law at TBS Business School. He teaches on TBS’s Toulouse and Barcelona campuses. Voss has taught about Law & Management approaches in Master’s level classes on International Corporate Legal Strategy and Legal Strategy & Innovation. He has also written about legal strategy in the field of data protection law. Voss is a member of the board of directors of the French Academy of Legal Studies in Business and is a Staff Editor of the American Business Law Journal. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School and a DESS (Masters 2) in Law and Information Systems from the University of Toulouse I Capitole. He has a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
Jean-Michel do Carmo Silva is an Senior Professor of law at Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM). His most recent academic publications focus on financial law, more particulary insurance undertakings regulation. He supervises research in law through coordinating collective works as well as through his role as scientific advisor of a legal journal. From 2017 to 2020, he was chairman of the French Academy of Legal studies. He’s now vice chairman.

Robert Bird is a Professor of Business Law and the Eversource Energy Chair in Business Ethics at the University of Connecticut. His research on legal strategy, compliance, employment law, and other subjects has appeared in over sixty publications, including articles in the Journal of Law and Economics, American Business Law Journal, and the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. Robert is a past president of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, the international academic organization for professors of business law.
Christophe Collard is a Professor of Law at EDHEC Business School. He is the co-director of the LL.M. “Law & Tax Management” and is in charge of the “Business Law & Management” track at EDHEC. He teaches Antitrust Law, Contract Law and Legal Management, delivering courses to a wide range of publics, with a real experience of teaching in foreign countries (Algeria, Italy, Poland). A member of the EDHEC Augmented Law Institute, Professor Collard maintains an active research agenda in the areas of Legal (Risk) Management and Compliance. He has presented numerous papers at French and international conferences and his research have appeared in a variety of academic and professional journals. He is the co-author of one of the best-selling books in France dedicated to the concept of “legal performance”.
Pascal Corbel, Professor, Paris-Saclay University
Anne-Sophie Courtier is Associate Professor of Law. She holds a PhD in Law and has occupied her post at NEOMA BS since 2006. She teaches in the Masters Programmes for Corporate Engineering and Legal Risks connected with business contracts and responsibilities. She has developed an innovative pedagogic programme based on Learning-by-Doing concepts that she applied to her courses and the management of the Master of Science Programme in International Project Development she is head of. She has infused her courses with her own research connected to Legal Risks in companies and has also published her research many times in peer reviewed journals. From 2017, She has been Director of MSc Programmes and also Associate Director of MIM Programme since 2019. Along with these activities, Anne-Sophie COURTIER is Presidente of the French Academy of legal studies in Business that has the objective, among others, of bringing attention to Law Research in the business schools.
Helena Haapio is Professor of Practice and Docent of Proactive Law and Contract Design, University of Lapland | Associate Professor of Business Law, University of Vaasa | Contract Strategist, Lexpert Ltd. Prof. Helena Haapio has pioneered Proactive Law and contract (re)design for over 25 years. She has co-created the WorldCC Contract Design Pattern Library and her work has been recognized internationally, for example with the European Women of Legal Tech 2020 Award. She is a co-founder of the Legal Design Alliance and a co-author of its Legal Design Manifesto. She has co-authored Proactive Law for Managers with George Siedel and recently co-edited two books for Edward Elgar, one on Legal Design and the other on Contract Design

Soili Nystén-Haarala is Professor of Commercial Law, especially Russian law from 2013,as well as the dean of the faculty of law at the University of Lapland from 2017. She defended her Ph.D “Long-term Contract, Contract law and Contracting” at the University of Lapland in 1998 in commercial law. Her main fields of interest are proactive contracting and contract design, interface of contract law and IP, law and management, contracts and project management in industrial and infrastructure projects (esp. project alliances) natural resource governance (esp. forests, oil &gas, mining) and renewable energy in the Arctic. She has led many research projects concerning these topics and has numerous publications in natural resource governance in the Arctic, proactive contracting and Russian law. She has taught multiple courses in contract law, international sales law, contract design and negotiations, client consultation, Russian law and corporate social responsibility.

Christophe Roquilly is Professor at EDHEC Business School where he is also the Director of the EDHEC Augmented Law Institute, and the Honorary Dean of Faculty. Christophe is a member of the Scientific Council of the Semaine Juridique Entreprise et Affaires (Law Journal, LexisNexis – Juriste d’entreprise Nexis), of the Scientific Council of the Business & Legal Forums, of the Advisory Board of the ECLA (European Company Lawyers Association) and of the EFMD Programme Accreditation Board. He is Vice-President of the Cercle de la Compliance.
George Siedel is a chaired professor at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. He has held visiting appointments at Berkeley, Cambridge, Harvard, and Stanford and was a Fulbright Distinguished Chair. In 2018, he received the Distinguished Career Achievement Award from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business in recognition of his research and teaching.
